Nice review! And what a performance, my gosh!' 😎

Some strange results overall between many reviews. AMD not improving gaming performance on Zen5 is disappointing.
Lets hope Zen5X3D will change that.

What a mess...
An absolute flop.
The same will go for X3D variants, they won't be any better than Zen4 X3D, heck, they might even be worse.
All the transistors went to AVX512, and the rest of the CPU is stagnant.
Two years wait for this...
BOOOO.

Was there a tuned test? PBO, CO, all the works? Pretty sure most Gurus will run it that way and not bone stock.

Like the 9700X, this is also a small improvement over it`s predecessor, this 9000 series won`t bring big performance increases like we wanted.
But the performance is there, for those who who need it.
Great review.

For me it's a winner because of stability and memory compatibility - it also runs memory at higher speed than first gen. Gaming? - i don't care, I have a 4090.:p
So yes, I want him, I need him.

I didnt know you have to reinstall OS when upgrading from single CCD to dual CCD chip to have max performance. Thats strange.

Arrow Lake is the last hope for x86-64 desktop, since Zen 5 is more or less a flop. This is where having greater market segmentation between product lineup would have helped AMD. They are obviously prioritizing the development of their CPUs for commercial/HPC, because that's where the money is. Having dual issue AVX-512 is nice, but completely useless for desktop. If they beefed up AVX2 throughput instead, it would have been better in some workloads.
Until they address the main problems, ie weak memory controller (may be caused by IF), slow infinity fabric interconnect, and outdated cache hierarchy in the base models, Zen is a hard pass for me.
