Final Words & Conclusion

Mini PCs are small, versatile computers that balance compactness, functionality, and decent performance. While they may not be the top choice for hardcore gamers due to their typically weaker graphics capabilities, they excel as workstations or reliable computers for students, particularly in environments where space is limited. One of the standout features of many mini PCs is their VESA compatibility, which allows them to be mounted discreetly behind monitors, helping to keep workspaces tidy and organized. Over the years, mini PCs have seen significant improvements in their capabilities, and some recent models are making notable advances in their graphics performance. For example, newer models like the 13900H are equipped with more advanced integrated graphics processors and slightly faster processing speeds compared to previous generations. These computers, especially when equipped with 32GB of RAM, can handle gaming at Full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels) fairly well, although they still lag behind competitors like AMD in some areas. The performance levels mentioned are achievable under optimal settings, typically at high or ultra image quality. To maintain a frame rate between 40-60 frames per second, users might need to use features like Xess (if available) or reduce the image quality settings. Despite these adjustments, the integrated graphics on these devices generally perform adequately. In performance tests, mini PCs with substantial memory and storage, such as those with 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD, have shown they can handle intense workloads effectively. For instance, the GEEKOM Mini PC, while not primarily designed for gaming, still manages to deliver reasonable graphics performance when high-resolution and image quality settings are scaled back.

Concluding

The Geekom XT13 Pro Mini PC is an upgraded version of the previous XT12 model, providing 1TB more storage and a faster processor. This mini PC is both compact and moderately powerful, designed to offer solid performance with excellent energy efficiency. It runs on a 6-core processor equipped with 8 efficient "E-cores," making it ideal for multitasking and handling advanced graphics tasks. The XT13 Pro is equipped with state-of-the-art integrated graphics, supporting ultra-high-definition displays with resolutions up to 8K. For connecting external devices, it includes the latest USB4 ports that offer rapid data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps with compatible hardware. The device also supports WiFi 6E, which ensures faster and more stable internet connections, covering dual bands at both 5 GHz and 6 GHz frequencies. Moreover, it features Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port for wired internet connections, and multiple USB ports, including USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB 2.0. Additional extras include an SD card reader for easy access to external storage, a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones or speakers, HDMI 2.0 outputs for video connections, and a slot for a Kensington security lock to prevent theft. The mini PC also has a DC input for its 19V 120W power adapter and a power switch for easy operation. Despite its small size, the Geekom XT13 Pro delivers excellent performance in both single-thread and multi-thread applications, making it suitable for use as a desktop workstation. It is capable of managing demanding computing tasks and streaming Ultra HD content smoothly on platforms such as YouTube. However, it should be noted that the device might generate noticeable fan noise during intense operations that put a high load on the CPU.

The XT13 Pro comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro and is available for purchase directly from the manufacturer. It starts at $679 and ends at $807 for the tested model with 2TB. This mini PC offers a combination of strong specifications, comprehensive features, and a competitive price, making it an appealing choice for users seeking a robust and feature-packed computing solution.
