We review the BLUETTI AC240 Portable power station, this new model comes with something many people have been waiting for, an IP65 rating meaning it's dust and weatherproof. It functions as a reliable backup power solution, swiftly switching to battery power in power cuts to ensure the uninterrupted operation of sensitive devices. With a 2,400W output, expandable battery capacity, and fast charging, it's an ideal choice for various power needs and emergencies. Also when connected to a PV panel, you could power up your barn or shed, well, there's lots of functionality, we'll throw a few at you in our review. While it's not your average product that we review here at Guru3D, I was intrigued by how fast the technology sector is advancing. Especially here in the Netherlands, we're getting more solar dependent, and home storage batteries are becoming a big thing. These are small steps though and as such, particularly individuals who enjoy off-grid adventures, partake in various outdoor activities, or require a dependable power backup during unforeseen electrical disruptions that's where BLUETTI's solutions come into play. Among the myriad of options available in the market, the BLUETTI AC240 emerged as a product, recognised for its efficiency in charging from both conventional AC outlets and solar panels. It boasts an impressive ability to power a diverse range of devices through an assortment of ports and outlets, all housed within a design that prioritizes durability and resilience, making it a companion for strenuous travels and outdoor usage. Also with a power outage, this unit can easily keep your fridge power up for a day, maybe two. 

The Bluetti AC240 is a robust, weather-resistant (and yes we will hose it down) portable power station designed to deliver 2400 watts of AC power, with a storage capacity of 1536 watt-hours. It features an IP65 rating, indicating it is completely dust-tight and can withstand squirts of water, making it suitable for use in more harsh environmental conditions such as dusty roads or wet climates. This power station is engineered with a focus on durability and environmental resistance. The unit's cooling system includes a waterproof fan and heat sinks, enhancing its ability to prevent water ingress and maintain optimal internal temperatures. Despite its heavy-duty build, the AC240 is heavier than some other models with similar specifications. It weighs 32.5 kilograms, compared to the 28.1 kilograms of the Bluetti AC200 Max, yet has a slightly smaller battery capacity.

A key feature of the AC240 is its expandability. It can connect to up to four B210 expansion batteries, each also boasting an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. This modular expansion capability allows users to increase the total storage capacity to as much as 10 kilowatt-hours, comparable to residential solar battery systems. Each B210 battery weighs 27.2 kilograms and has the same width and depth as the AC240, requiring two people for safe handling. The AC240 accommodates standard EU or USA power outlets (depending on region you'll get different sockets), supporting up to 2400 watts of output to run household appliances. It includes four outlets, and the combined wattage of connected devices should not exceed the station's output capacity. Bluetti incorporates a feature known as Power Lifting in the AC240, which allows the power output to temporarily exceed 2400 watts, reaching up to 3600 watts.
