Mobile 5G performance testing

We can test this device with several methods. With a SIM card on the 4g/5g side, we'll test first. Then following we'll have a peek at LAN side performance as the unit can run as an access point with 4g/5g failover just as well.

Above you can observe our 5g mobile performance, mind you the mobile router is placed inside a heavily insulated building. Outside the results would be much better, but at an average 133 Mbps for downloads, you are more than covered for most of your internet needs. Upload is 15 Mbps, we're roughly 1km away from the transmitting tower. Overall, these are impressive results, so as a 4g/5g router we're happy.

Of course of you have better reception the performance will get much better.  We'll now hook up the M6 Pro towards the ethernet jack where it can feed internet connectivity (WAN) from our 1 Gbps fiber connection:

In this scenario, the mobile router functions as an access point and will share its 32 available connections over wifi with anyone connected to it. Would your ISP internet connection fail, then the router will jump towards the 4g/5g sim you have inserted, and as such this offers a excellent level of redundancy/failsafe. On the next page, we'll be measuring WIFI performance in our regular setup to see how much throughput the WIFI 2.4,5 and 6 GHz bands can transfer.
