Great card, great (relative) price and strong performance in the right games and right resolution, but in donkey's years of gaming I've never had the need to remove or replace a fan.

Same. Still, if it happens once and you can easily do it then why not. As long as it doesnt add to the price I'm cool.

Yeah i think thats the thing, price. I love the look of the new daisy chain fans but man to replace my Noctuas would cost a fortune, for the sake of two screws per fan.

GPU and GPU hotspot temp delta could be lower, but still it's nice.

15-20c delta is perfectly fine.

I think mine is more than that, i think my GPU block is due a repaste. Something else to add to the Amazon list for when im home, it currently stands at Subtotal (10 items): £1,613.46 😱

honestly after repasting my lappy w/ pt7950 i'm sold. this is a home run for XFX and the card looks like an adult gpu w/ unicorn vomit only on the logo, which i find tasteful. and tbh, if i wasn't going to put a block on a gpu this would be the one i'd buy. and since it's available now i have two (7900xtx) rigs waiting to be built that i promised before the 4th of July holiday where the client provides the gpu. i will recommend pulling the trigger on this one.

While I think the notion of replacing a fan for the sake of maintenance seems a bit odd (go watercooling if your fan dies, or, buy the HSF from someone on ebay who went watercooling), replacing a fan for the sake of changing the aesthetic or acoustic appeal makes sense.

Open case here, no case fan replacement blues.

i do have one worry/thought - i really hope that XFX benches these before release due to the properties of pt7950. if they don't some knuckleheads will scream about a return of vapor chamber problems. pt7950 needs to be brought to phase change temps to improve contact and to expel microscopic air bubbles. i had to put my lappy in performance mode, game & run cpu-z (i have it on cpu & gpu) noticing a +10c delta over paste, before re-booting and repeating 2x. now, i'm rock solid at 5c over ambient

Regardless of whether the the fans go bad the ease of removing them just to clean the heat sink is a definite plus. Nice Card, nice review.

The way i see it this is was an opportunity for XFX to indroduce a new series of gpus Nirvana and Mercury.

I was thinking the same... I`ve never had any fans issues after all these years...

availability of the replaceable component(after some years) ....the big "?" Most companies just tag: https://www.pngkey.com/png/detail/750-7503067_discontinued-product.png
You have found the little dirty trick that matters the most! 😱 Anyway the card is cool and good but i don`t see the appeal of replaceable fans on a GPU... Stupid question, is there any chance of the magnets losing their "strenght" after some years, resulting in lose fans?

I do I RMA a few cards simply due to fans not working properly
