Those gaming benchmarks look underwhelming, but I guess we knew that already.

Quite good gains without increasing clocks. Especially since on par with intel already

Guys, given my mere specs, 5600X on an MSI X570 A PRO (I love both, CPU & M/B), would you recommend going to 9700X on a B850 M/B when they'll both be released? It's either that or from my mere 3060Ti, in case Nvidia will give me a 5060Ti with at least 12GB GDDR7 VRAM & 192 bit bus width, I'd very much like to pull the trigger. However, I'm afraid since Nvidia goes back to similar TDP of the 3000 series, in case the VRAM will be the new type of GDDR7, I'm fairly certain it will exceed the 500$, perhaps 550$ and even 600 dollars, price markup. What do you think? And to think I was hardcore Intel fan, since my 5600X -my first AMD CPU, I'll keep getting Ryzen. I love the "Curve Optimization" feature. My Voltage from 1.375V, never exceeds 1.178V (at -30) anymore for the exact same clocks. Thoughts? --- Something last, I use 1 990PRO SSD and 1 SN850X and in general, truth to be told, I don't really need to upgrade anything, but since I play on 1440P @75Hertz, the 3060Ti has a little less juice than the desired one, only when I play the few extremely demanding titles. Cyberpunk, I play on High settings with all the RT disabled and DLSS enabled on 'balanced' in order to smoothly get my 75FPS VSynced.

There's only so much that can be done with the classic tech. I suspect we are over 50% of maximum peak performance a silicon based core can do. Frequency has pretty much topped out, and they are squeezing every last drop of IPC possible out of current tech. New materials (better than silicon), optronics (intra-chip laser stuff), diamond (carbon) based transistors or who knows what other science fiction tech will be needed to escape the inevitable peak silicon.

What's impressive is that 9900x (24 threads) beats 14900k (32 threads) in Blender, not to mention how hot and power hungry Intel is.

@NiColaoS for the 5060ti I would be happy if it is 128bit 16gb at 400 and somewhat matching the 4070 . ... 192 bit seems like NV would not like to get it up there I hope they do .... Hell I am also afraid they may give us another 8gb card

Pretty good if it's 4-29% with just IPC well maybe more against the usual 7900x

The 9000 series are just a solid improvement, nothing else. And AMD has dedicated CPUs for gaming, the 3D parts.

True, everyone is coming closer to the inevitable performance wall using the old and trusted tech that brought us here. I wonder what companies will do then...

Ryzen 7 9700X @ 65 tdp for 8/16? that really nice and I bet stick alot closer to that then Intel stuff does, would like to see the price

The question is when are the X3D chips being released, thinking of upgrading from an i9 9900k to one. I reckon it’s been a few decades since I’ve owned an AMD CPU, but now it seems they’re the better option in both gaming and productivity. Especially with the issues 13th and 14th gen Intel have, I just don’t think I can trust the stability of 15th gen. Not to mention the performance and temps of AMD CPUs are at or better than Intel now.

This 9XXX series will be very impressive really! This 9700X 8C/16T 5.4Ghz at 65W is INSANE! Intel will need double of this TDP to delivery same performance! Nice job AMD! Doubles Flawless Victory and Fatality!
